A Quiet(er) Road Trip With Grandkids

Guess what? When the newness and fun of license plate bingo, or the alphabet game has worn off, or if reading in the car makes the grandkids feel a little queasy…sometimes you have to turn to technology. Do you know what will make a fairly quiet roadtrip with a car full of kids? In-Motion satellite TV. Stream the Cartoon Network for a little bit and the ones that don’t fall asleep will be paying rapt attention. Those in-motion antennas used to be fairly bulky and kind of loud when they were tracking satellites, but the newer generation are smaller, lighter and quieter as well.

We’ve got some of Wingard’s T4 in-motion satellite antennas on sale here at PPL for almost $300 off if you’re interested in keeping the kiddos happy, or if you’re one of those folks who reaches their destination and doesn’t want to waste all that time getting the antenna set up and aligned properly. These things are great. They really are as easy as pushing a button. Not only that, but if it’s not your turn to drive it’s awful nice to take a break every now and then and catch a show.

These antennas are compatible with DIRECTV, or Dish HD, or Bell TV depending on which network you’re subscribed to. And they’re actually pretty sleek looking…almost streamlined, which will save some wear and tear. They also are smaller than the old ones, taking up a smaller portion of the roof with their reduced footprint. Since the newer motors are smaller and more efficient, and the tracking algorithms have been updated to match the new technology, locking onto a satellite and maintaining uplinks is so much simpler.
